Of the many things I enjoy in my life, travelling, visiting different countries and experiencing the many cultures, gives me such a great pleasure. I have visited many special places with my husband and in 2011, I was given the opportunity to teach in China for 12 months and returned in 2012. This was an amazing experience for me and because of this, I have developed a great love of this country, its’ people and of course the beautiful children. I have returned to China for a holiday since then and loved every minute of this fascinating country.

Professionally, after having gained a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services, I wanted to further my studies to pursue my chosen career of Early Childhood Care and Education. I hold a very strong passion for early childhood and in 2009, I graduated from the University of Southern Queensland where I obtained a Bachelor of Early Childhood. This has given me an extensive knowledge of child development, early childhood programs and a true understanding of quality education and its delivery. It has also enabled me to support educators in their educational practices. I also hold a Certificate IV and Diploma in Training and Assessment.

I am an advocate for giving young children “Choices” and guiding them in their choices to assist their development of socially acceptable interactions, problem solving, healthy lifestyles and a love of learning through discovery - foundational skills for a happy and successful life.

I look forward to working with Sandi and the team at Bay Explorers and to meeting each one of you and getting to know your lovely children.

I am qualified with a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood) and a Master of Early Childhood Education. I have also obtained my Supervisor Certificate, Senior First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis and Teacher Registration. I have been working in the industry for 9 years now either in a teaching or supervisor role, gaining valuable experience and knowledge along the way.

I value the importance of building strong relationships with children and their families and aim to incorporate this into the program at each opportunity. I believe all children should have the chance to thrive in a welcoming environment that values the preciousness of early childhood and supports learning and development in all areas.

I believe all children have the right to be acknowledged for who they are and what they can contribute to their learning environment. Therefore, following children's interest and listening to children's voices is incorporated into the program on a daily basis through meaningful interactions and experiences.

I am a strong advocate for early childhood education and know the importance of this for all children and their educational journey through life. Therefore, children are given opportunities to investigate and nurture their growth through specifically designed play based programs, catering to their individual needs.

I am excited to be working as part of the Bay Explorers team and look forward to getting to know all the children and their families.

I take great delight in serving as a centre support person.  I work a split shift, where I open the centre in the morning and return to close the centre in the afternoon.  This allows for continuity for children and families in having a familiar face to greet and farewell each day.  I facilitate the educators in each room and step in to the kitchen for Chris the chef, when required.  I even lend a hand with maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.  

I am a keen gardener, a health nut and enjoy camping, bushwalking and four wheel driving.  I am very passionate about sustainability and caring for the environment.  I have an Italian background and embrace all cultures: even learning Japanese, Spanish and Mandarin.  I love our Reggio Emilio approach with our natural environment and resources and the fabulous people I get to enjoy life with.e fabulous 

I have worked as both an Educator and a Lead Educator as well as management in a small OSHC service.  I have been a foster parent to my youngest godson and raised him for 8 months prior to having my own children.  I have always had a passion for working with children and have worked in all age groups from nursey to school age.  After having my own children, I gained a new prospective and became even more passionate about child development.

I believe children learn through play in a supportive, safe environments with trusted educators and I pride myself on building strong relationships with both the children in my care as well as their families. I believe that it is most important for all children to be nurtured and to feel safe and secure. A child’s world is so small and building that strong trusting relationship is the key to a successful transitions and positive experiences.

I have a keen interest in the behavioural part of child development and often attend workshops that cover areas such as this. I am always eager to learn new and different behaviour management strategies and work with children and their family to overcome any difficulties.  

In the Junior Kindy Room this year, I endeavour to form secure attachments to the children and their families and to make the program individualised to suit each child’s needs, developmental stages and interests. I consider family input a vital part of my planning and look forward to getting to know everybody. I am always interested to hear about your family’s culture, background, celebrations and anything you believe makes your child and family special.

I am Diploma qualified and the part I play in this amazing centre is Lunch Relief which covers all the girls’ lunches and/or programming if need be.

The reason why I love working in Early Childhood Education and Care is because I believe in creating an environment that  encourages your child to feel safe and comfortable. I love being part of a team that ensures you know your child will have a wonderful day playing – and learning! – with us.

When I’m not working I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the movies and watching my favourite TV shows. I am a huge Disney fanatic and my other passion is the V8 supercar season and when it’s on I am either there or watching it on TV. I had my first experience at Bathurst 2016 and had so much fun.

I have an extensive employment background as a chef with 16 years industry experience in numerous styles of busy venues from 300 seat bistros, seafood restaurants, upmarket cafes and Italian restaurants. This has allowed me the opportunity to gain vast food knowledge in different styles of service from catering for large weddings, school camps and busy pub menus to fine dining a la carte venues.

Bay Explorers Deception Bay has given me a great opportunity to have an important and rewarding role that also allows a great work life balance and offers a chance for me to demonstrate my passion for delivering delicious and healthy meal options for very small but tough customers, and as a parent I know we all can relate to the struggles of getting kids to eat the healthy options.

My goal is to create a series of interchangeable menus, catering for all special requirements and highly influenced by healthy eating options that challenge what people believe kids want to eat, taking childcare meals to a whole other level.

I have worked in the Early Childhood Industry for a couple of years now.  With this experience, and my experience of raising my own children, I feel that I am well equipped to continue guiding and learning with your children.  Prior to commencing my career in Early Childhood I worked in Disability Services where I assisted children with their additional needs.  This was a very rewarding career and I am able to use the skills and knowledge I learnt and apply it to my role here at Bay Explorers.

My partner Jake and I have six children between us and I love spending as much time as possible with them.  We are very family orientated and our lives are dedicated to our children.  We love going to the markets and the beach.  Our two dogs also enjoy going to the beach with us.  Mack and Bean are my fur babies and just as much a part of the family.

Cooking is one of my biggest passions and I love to do this on my days off.  My children also love helping me in the kitchen.

I love working at Bay Explorers and enjoy the relationships that I develop with the children and families.

I have 20 years’  experience  in the childcare sector in the United States and Australia.  It is a deep-rooted passion of mine.  I believe that it takes a village to raise children with the parents being the first teachers and that there should be a strong partnership between us.  I believe as an Early Childhood Educator that I am responsible for providing young children with positive learning experiences based on their interests.  I strive to model respect, patience, and care for children and adults that I come into contact with.  Children have the right to have their needs met and receive a proper education whilst in the care of their Educators.

Children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in an environment that is enriching and stimulating.  Children are curious from infancy and have a desire to learn from their environment and those around them.  When children are encouraged to interact with their peers and adults in positive ways, they feel safe to explore their surroundings.  As an Educator I seek to guide children from needing assistance with a task to accomplishing a task independently by providing experiences that are challenging yet attainable for every child.  Children can be highly motivated, feel actively involved in their own learning and produce work of high quality when they have the time to engage in short and long term projects.

My role as an Educator is to be a facilitator and provide enriching activities so that children are supported as they learn about  their strengths and work on their weaknesses.  As a facilitator, I support children as they embark on a journey to make discoveries about themselves and learn to recognise and name feelings.

As an Educator, I seek to form a close relationship with each child in my care and their families.  I make use of our communities’ resources and incorporate the child’s community into the program.  I see each child as a unique individual with a great capacity to learn and able to make positive contributions to those around them.  I strive to provide an environment where children and families from different cultural backgrounds feel welcomed and accepted.

My goal is to provide children with a rich environment where they feel safe to explore, initiate learning, and feel free to express themselves.

I grew up in a small country town on the coast and moved to Brisbane a few years ago to attend University.  This was a huge change in my life and so far a positive one as I love being so close to the water.  This lifestyle taught me a great deal about finding inspiration in all parts of a child’s environment to create activities and games that mirror these interests.

My goal as an educator is to play a fundamental role in preparing each child for the world and guiding them through the beginning chapters of their life.  I strive to create a safe and caring environment for each individual child and to ensure they have the space to explore and have fun in a learning environment.  

I adore working at Bay Explorers and feel incredibly privileged to work alongside so many incredible and passionate educators and staff; together we work tirelessly to ensure the best for each child and it’s an honour to see that work come to fruition every day.

I have a very big passion for child care and working with children of all ages.  I believe that the younger years in children are the most important.  It is my duty as an early childhood Educator to guide and teach young children the necessities of life and all life skills.

Myself and my husband have three gorgeous children together.  Harper (6yrs), Indee (4yrs) and Jaylen (1yr).  I am a very proud mother as they are the highlight of my life.  They bring my husband and I the world of happiness.  In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my family.  We are a very active family and enjoy being outside as much as possible.  We love going to the beach, parks and going for bike rides.

Working in the childcare industry is something I have wanted to do all my life, and I am lucky enough to get to fulfill my dream each day by providing care and support to help children develop their skills and their personalities.

My goal is to provide all of the children in my care a safe, comfortable, loving environment, where they can play, learn and grow.  I believe in being a good role model and in guiding the children to respect themselves, others and the environment. 

I am very excited to be part of the Bay Explorers family and look forward to meeting all the parents and sharing this journey with you and your family.

I am a creative person, so I enjoy also being creative with the children.  I enjoy messy and sensory play, and getting in there with the children.  In the past I have created coloured spaghetti/noodles.  I have placed out shaving cream, cake mixture with icing sugar, coloured water, and even jelly.

In my personal time I enjoy writing, going to the movies, creating computer graphics, watching my favourite television shows, and listening to music.  I am interested in a wide variety of music, some of which you will hear in the room when you pick up your child.  I also am a huge convention fan, and I attend many Supanova Pop Culture Expos, and Oz Comic Con in Brisbane.  I love meeting my favourite tv show and movie actors.  When I attend these conventions, I wear costumes that reflect my love for movies and television shows that I watch.  I also own an Australian Silky/Maltese dog by the name of Betsy, and she will be thirteen years old soon.

I am originally from Nepal.  I am married and have two beautiful princesses, Priyanka and Alisha.  My cultural background is Hindu.  I grew up amidst a lot of culture experiences from Nepal and India.

I have three years experiences in the child care industry.  I have completed my certification III and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.  I am creative, energetic, hardworking and an organised person.

I love working and spending time with children . I think every child is unique with different interests, backgrounds, and developmental stages. I provide loving and fun care, and work hard to ensure nurturing and safe environments that promote each child’s learning and development.

I have my Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and am also currently studying my Diploma in Children’s Services.

I am the middle child in my family as I have one older sister and one younger sister. In my spare time I enjoy watching my partner play sports and spending time with my nieces and nephews. My partner and I purchased our own house 2 years ago.

It is my aim to provide a happy, healthy, safe and nurturing environment for the children to safely explore and thoroughly enjoy their time at Bay Explorers. I love working with our families and getting to know everyone. 

I have worked with children for many years starting with teaching dance when I was a child myself. Over the years I have taught dance to children as young as 2, all the way to adults, and gradually I found my way back to the younger years as this is where I believe I belong. I hold my Diploma in Children's Services and love working with the younger children.

My husband and I moved to Australia from the UK in 2010, first living in the Sunshine Coast and now in North Lakes. I love it here and feel blessed to have the opportunity to move to such a beautiful country. Since moving here we have married, bought a house and had a lovely little boy whom I treasure most in the world.

I feel so lucky to be working in such a fantastic centre and look forward to getting to know all our families and helping the children grow.

My husband Ken and I have a very energetic toddler by the name of Matthew, whom we absolutely adore. We like spending time with our families and friends and taking Matthew out to the different parks in the area.

At Bay Explorers I am very fortunate to work with a great team of Educators building strong, trusting relationships with both the children and their families. My goal now is to become an Early Childhood teacher and this year I have started studying the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) through QUT at the Caboolture Campus.

I love working with children because it’s beautiful to watch them grow, learn, play and develop. They’re also pretty funny and always have me laughing. I love working at Bay Explorers, the team is fantastic and the support that is given to everyone - staff and children - is amazing.

In my spare time I am a book nerd and read a lot of adventure and fantasy books. I love animals and have two dogs and two cats. I have a very close family so my weekends are usually full of catching up with them and spending time with my friends.
